ATHENS

A commercial space in the center of Athens was converted into a store selling air conditioning units, spread over two levels: a 55 sq. m. ground floor and a 21.5 sq. m. mezzanine. The previous use involved the sale of clothing, with the mezzanine functioning exclusively as a warehouse with no internal connection to the ground floor via a staircase.

The main objective of the project was to convey the brand’s corporate identity while simultaneously creating an upgraded, high-quality space that showcases the products. Equally important was the utilization of the mezzanine, which now houses the owner’s office and a small sitting area, offering an informal sense of privacy.

A central compositional element of the design is the vertical wooden beams, which demarcate the main exhibition space from the staircase and simultaneously function as a railing. The same motif is applied to the display window, where the undulating horizontal notches symbolically represent the airflow generated by the products.

The architectural and concealed lighting, installed on vertical surfaces and on the ceiling, creates an atmospheric effect while simultaneously highlighting the products.

White dominates the composition, serving as a neutral backdrop to highlight the air conditioning units. The marble-effect flooring adds a touch of luxury, while the wooden elements introduce warmth and a sense of hospitality. The shades of light blue, inspired by the corporate identity, are subtly integrated into the space, exuding a sense of freshness.
